Gul Rahim Niazman
 

Gul Rahim Niazman is a newscaster with Voice of America radio. He also works as a freelancer for the news agency AFP, and for the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWRP). ‏

Niazman was four years old when his family migrated to Pakistan in 1980, one year after the invasion of the Soviet troops. While living in the refugee camp Jalozai, he was heading a literary circle, called Maiwand Literature Society. After his return to Afghanistan, he established a similar group in Kunduz. ‏Niazman studied Economics in Jalalabad, but he could not complete his university due to political instability at the time.
