Fawzia Ihsan, 32, worked as a reporter and desk editor with Radio Free Europe from 2002 until June 2011 when she joined Voice of America radio as a reporter. She writes news and investigative reports, and translates world news from English into Dari. She also moderates roundtables.

Fawzia was born in the northern province of Takhar. She has studied English language and literature at Kabul University. She has traveled widely to Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Nepal, Czech Republic, Iran, China, Turkey and Pakistan.
