A graduate of the literature faculty of Kabul University, Sayed Rahmat Alizada is a correspondent of the Wakht news agency in Ghazni Province. He worked with local media outlets there and in Wardak and Logar provinces from 2006 to 2008.

Rahmat also worked as a reporter for Farda TV and the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) from 2008 to 2010, and as a reporter with Ariana TV from 2010 to beginning of 2011. 

Rahmat currently works for Agence France Presse (AFP) as a Ghazni correspondent and photographer.
