Zafar Shah Rouyee, 26, is a news editor for one of the leading Afghan newspapers, Hasht-e Sohb (in Engl.: 8 o’clock in the morning). He began work as a journalist at the weekly paper, Mardom (People), which used to be published by a Jihadi party and was closed in 2005. Later, he joined the popular daily paper, Rah-e Nejat (New Way) as reporter and political analyst. Zafar Shah grew up in a poor, rural area in Ghazni province. He graduated from the journalism faculty at Kabul university and is married with one son.
